What a residency is

Time to yourself, in a house that already has a rhythm.

You set the agenda. Write, rest, plan the next chapter, finish the thing. The house supplies the conditions: quiet, structure when you want it, and people when you're ready for them.

Your room

A door that closes

A private furnished room with utilities included, a shared kitchen and common spaces, and a place to work. Your days are yours.

Your host

Host pop-ins

Vondell stops in on a set rhythm. She asks what you're working on, what's stuck, and what would make the rest of your stay count.

Your people

Community intros

Introductions to Tulsans who match what you're working on: writers, artists, builders, organizers, operators. Picked for you, made by your host.

How it works

From request to the day you leave.

  1. Request your stay

Pick a length and dates below. Tell us what you want to work on.

  2. Intro call and screening

Fifteen minutes to confirm fit, dates, and your room, then a soft background check.

  3. Arrive

A house walk-through, the house agreements, and a first conversation about your goals.

  4. Stay

Self-guided days, host pop-ins, community intros, and Haus gatherings on the calendar.

  5. Close

A closing conversation for month and quarter residents: what you made, what's next.

Stays and pricing

Four ways to stay. One clear best value.

Every stay includes a private furnished room and access to the house. Longer stays add more host time, more introductions, and a lower nightly rate.

The longer you stay, the less each night costs.

A quarter costs less than half the weekend rate per night, and it comes with more of everything.

Ninety days is long enough to finish the draft, test the business, make the decision, and live with it for a few weeks before you go home. It's also the cheapest way to stay.

  • Month 1Land. Set your rhythm. First intros.
  • Month 2The real work. Quarterly Check-In with your host.
  • Month 3Finish, share it at the house, and plan what's next.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is this a short-term rental?

No. You're staying inside a working house with a rhythm, a host, and agreements. Every stay starts with an intro call so both sides know it's a fit.

Do you run background checks?

Yes. Every guest completes a soft background check before a stay is confirmed. It checks identity and public records and does not affect your credit score. You'll get the link after your intro call. It keeps the house safe for every resident, including you.

What does self-guided mean?

There's no schedule you have to follow. You decide how to spend your days. The house calendar, host pop-ins, and introductions are there when you want them.

What happens during a host pop-in?

A short, in-person conversation. Your host asks what you're working on, what's working, and what's stuck, then suggests a person, place, or practice that could help.

Who are the community intros?

People in Vondell's Tulsa network chosen for what you're working on. A screenwriter might meet other writers and producers. A founder might meet operators and funders. Intros are made with both people's consent.

Which room will I get?

Rooms are confirmed on your intro call. Quarter residents choose their room first.

Can I work remotely from the Haus?

Yes. Many residents keep their jobs while they stay. Co-Working for the Called runs weekly at the house if you want company while you work.

Can I extend my stay?

If your room is open, yes. Quarter residents get first right to renew their room for the next quarter.

How does payment work?

Long weekends, weeks, and months are paid at booking after your intro call. Quarters can be paid in full or in three monthly payments of $1,600.

Is this faith-based?

Faith may be present as an undercurrent. The residency is designed to be welcoming, thoughtful, and inclusive.

Three rooms. Ninety days. The thing you finally finish.

Rooms are limited. Tell us when you want to come and what you want to work on.
